The blogosphere is made up of all blogs and their interconnections. The term implies that blogs exist together as a connected community (or as a collection of connected communities) or as a social networking service in which everyday authors can publish their opinions. Since the term has been coined, it has been referenced in a number of media and is also used to refer to the Internet.

What is a Blog?
-A regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

-a web log: a website containing short articles called posts that are changed regularly. Some blogs are written by one person about their own opinions, interests and experiences, while others are written by many different people. Most blogs allow comments from readers..
– a simple page where someone posts stuff from their lives, their hobbies, or anything of interesting nature that’s happening/has happened in their lives
Notable examples: WordPress, Blogspot, Tumblr (microblogging)
The Internet is mostly made up of electronic currents, pulses and what-have you that send signals all across cyberspace, which in turn reaches all over the world to whom ever has internet connection or a device that can connect to the world wide web.
It’s an ethereal domain where data travel through and fro in a matter of seconds, and sometimes even less. Now, my idea of the “Blogosphere” is that it is where the multitude of blogs, sites, pages on the internet reside; in it’s own sense it’s its own world (refer to pic above). A world made up of electronic signals and pulses where each of those lines represent the travel of data from one point of the world to another – and even then, the photo manipulation I did is a great under estimation of it’s massive scope and reach. To give it a bigger picture I found this photo that shows what I imagine the “blogosphere” may look like.

It is literally like a web, each line interconnected no matter where it begins or ends. Some have a common origin, and then divides into more lines and sub parts (much like a webhost is to a domain/blog).
Basically I imagine the blogosphere to be a universe of information, energy, with its own cycle of coming and going in and out of existence.
To put it in retrospective, image the power grid of our country:
- Electric Power is generated by the power plants
- The power plants distribute energy through various underground lines and towers as a hub
- The lines are then segmented again by transformers
- Transformers are a hub to a number of houses or buildings
- Each building has it’s own electric wiring system; From lights, to the socket plugs
- Appliances are plugged into the sockets.
It’s all one big web.
It’s a bit of an abstract idea, but eh… it’s something.
Also to add, here’s another article that features a mapped out look of just how big and broad the reach of the net is
